Spring 2010 Trend Recap

Wow, Time flies! It feels like just yesterday I was sharing what my favorite collections for SS10 in anticipation. Now in a few weeks fashion's fall collections will grace the runways at Bryant park.

I really love fashion week, everything is so exciting and electric. It is always great to know what's ahead  to guide me in making wise shopping investments. Not every trend that runs down the catwalk will be warmly greeted by the general public, but sometimes all it needs is a few years to be nurtured.

When all is said and done, it all comes down to style because nothing is worth while unless you put your own spin on it. That's what makes a good outfit amazing!

Alright, enough with the rambling- on to the recap!

Chloë Sevigny

I haven't done a post on fashion/style for a while so here we go!

I love to look for style inspiration just about everywhere and this girl has amazing style! Chloë Sevigny is well known for her unique and edgy fashion choices and is inspiration for many style mavens. She got her start at the imfamous Sassy magizine when an editor spotted her on the street and offered her an internship on the spot.

Now a days Chloë is indulging in her acting talents on the show Big Love and recently won a Golden Globe for her acting abilities. Congratulations Chloë on your Golden Globe win!

Ghostbikes of Brooklyn

En route to an amazing Pan Asian restaurant called Nana in Park Slope on 5th (Check it out if you are in the area!)  we ran into two ghost bikes on the same street. It made me realize how crazy it would be to bike around the city and how lucky I am to live in such a bike friendly community.

A ghost bike is a shrine to a biker's last ride. An artist will find a old bike, paint it white and lock it up at the spot where the cyclist was killed. It is a very beautiful memorial and creates awareness for bikers, pedestrians and drivers to be conscious of each other. I have talked to many friends who didn't know what ghost bikes were, so if you didn't know now you know.

No Sleep Till' Brooklyn

A great start to what I feel is going to be an amazing year! I spent the week in New York where I met some amazing new people. I can't express enough how much I am in love with the City, it's inspiration 24/7; from the food, to the street art, to the fashion, interior design and all around amazing style.

We strolled by Bryant Park where they are definitely gearing up for fashion week. A super exciting sight, if we would have left a month later we would have been right in the middle of the fabulous chaos that is Fashion Week. I swear I saw Agness Deyn  walking around the Lower East Side with some mysterious man, I would have taken a photo but I'd hate to feel like the paparazzi.

Here are a few photos of inspirational things:
