Awesome DIY projects from around the web

Finding DIY step by steps is one of my favorite things to do! Actually, I like it so much that I have a loooong list of projects that I have been saving up for ages that look amazing. Creating things yourself instead of just going out and buying them is so rewarding because the projects, made by your own hands, can be adjusted to however you would like them to be: plain or unique.  I'm thinking about doing a weekly series on cool DIY tutorials on the internets...

Feeling ambitious? Here are a few projects that would be super fun to try. I'll keep you posted if I make any of them.

60's French Cinema Style

Tres chic!

Lately I have been loving any movie that references 60's style (love: mini skirts, mini dresses, eyeliner and plump hair) and it's no secret that it is my all time favorite fashion era. The 60's were a good mix of naive and naughty both in cultural affairs and style.

The two most recent 60's french films that I've watched are Une Femme est une Femme (A Woman is a Woman) with Ana Karina and Masculin Feminin which has a little cameo by the ever beautiful Bridgette Bardot. Both are really great movies for style reference (I prefer Masculin Feminin’s story line) and a sneak peek into the life and times of the French youth in that era. I definitely recommend both!

Here are some Screen shots from each of the movies:

Fantastic Fabulous Fashion @ The Met Ball

Every year that passes brings on another Met Ball, a lovely (and in some cases, not so lovely) fashion feast for the eyes. This is a lot different than most red carpet events because it gravitates around fashion therefore pushing the celebs to be more fashion forward than classically pretty.

I have been feeling under the weather this week, it must be from working so hard during my move. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I can't do everything. Looking through these photos made me feel a little better  as I imagined myself at the ball socializing with a champagne glass in hand. Gotta Love the Glamour!

Anyway, here are my favorite outfit picks. Enjoy!
